American Speakers
Nederlandse versie: Amerikaanse Sprekers
Why is religion so important in U.S. politics?
What is the longest river in the U.S., and what is the highest mountain?
Who built the White House?
How is the educational system structured?
How does the election system work?
What is the role of the Supreme Court?
Is it fair to have affirmative action programs?
These are some of the questions we are asked in our discussions. The Speakers Bureau of the U.S. Mission in the Netherlands provides Dutch schools, clubs and other organizations the opportunity to meet Embassy and Consulate staff to learn more about the United States.
We can share the U.S. perspective on a wide range of governmental, political, social or cultural issues, such as the legal system, education, volunteerism, history, arts & culture, food, schools, sports, business, economy, diversity, and affirmative action. We also can discuss the U.S. government position on policy issues. These are only a few of the possibilities. Our goal is to address the topics you find interesting and important. If you have other ideas, please let us know.
Most of our discussions will be conducted in English. However, we also have staff who speak Dutch.
We will be happy to travel to your location, or you are welcome to visit us at the Embassy. The Embassy makes all travel arrangements for the speaker and there is no charge to the requesting organization.
