Country Clearance
All official business visits by U.S. industry and U.S. Government personnel to both military and industrial sites in the Kingdom of the Netherlands must be processed via a Country Clearance Request with the U.S. Embassy. This page will provide an overview of the clearance request process and state where more detailed information may be obtained. ODC Netherlands is the granting authority for all visits related to Security Assistance, Defense Cooperation in Armaments, or Logistics. All requests should be received for processing no later than 30 days prior to scheduled arrival. Note: The Defense Attaché Office is the granting authority for all other military-related visits. U.S. Government personnel must include the information required in the NETHERLANDS section of the DOD Foreign Clearance Guide (DOD 4500.54G) and should be sent via standard message traffic to the following "plain language address designator" (PLAD): AMEMBASSY THEHAGUE//ODC/DAO.
U.S. Defense Contractors must request industrial clearance prior to any visit to Netherlands Defense Forces. Requests for clearance must be on company letterhead, signed by senior management and faxed to ODC Netherlands. The letter request must include the visitor’s name, SSAN, title and company, passport number with date and place of issue, date and place of birth, dates and purpose of visit, export license number, Dutch point of contact, and whether classified information is to be discussed. If classified information is to be discussed, U.S. contractors must be cleared through the Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office /Columbus (DISCO/C). DISCO will provide security clearance information for contractors to ODC Netherlands. The ODC will provide this information to the Dutch Ministry of Defense to meet their requirements.
