  • Ambassador Visits GLOBE Program School Clusius College
    June 21, 2011 - As honorary member of the GLOBE program’s Board of Recommendation, the Ambassador traveled to Heerhugowaard to visit the GLOBE Program School Clusius College and to reaffirm official U.S. support for the GLOBE program.

    June 7, 2011 - “Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet” opened at the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam. 
  • Ambassador Hosts Environmental Speaker
    May 25 - The Ambassador held a breakfast for 2007 Nobel Peace Prize co-recipient Dr. Woodrow Clark. The event provided an opportunity to discuss what the U.S. is doing to combat climate change and the embassy’s green initiatives.
  • Ambassador visits GLOBE school in Weert
    May 19, 2011 - The Ambassador visited the Philips van Horne school in Weert, a participating school in the Netherlands’ GLOBE program.
  • Ambassador Hartog Levin Makes Official Visit to Gelderland
    May 13, 2011 - The Ambassador advanced her intent to visit every province in the Netherlands, by traveling to Gelderland. She visited the Food Valley Foundation, an organization that stimulates innovation in the Dutch agro-food sector by partnering knowledge with enterprise.

    January 25, 2011 - In an official visit to Rotterdam, the Ambassador met with Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb and discussed his efforts to make the city greener, as well as the city’s social programs to help those most in need.
  • Ambassador Levin attends Green Build Conference
    November 17, 2010 - U.S. Ambassador to the Netherlands Fay Hartog Levin and the Dutch Ambassador to the United States Renée Jones Bos worked together at the Green Build International Conference and Expo 2010 - the world's largest gathering dedicated to green building in Chicago.
  • Ambassador Hartog Levin visits Friesland
    November 4, 2010 - As part of her effort to visit every province in the Netherlands, the Ambassador traveled to Leeuwarden, Friesland.  The Ambassador met with the Queen’s Commissioner (governor) and visited Wetsus, a Center for Sustainable Water Technology.
  • Ambassador Hartog Levin visits Groningen
    August 27, 2010 - Ambassador Fay Hartog Levin traveled to Groningen for an official visit, where she met with Queen’s Commissioner Max van den Berg and Mayor Peter Rehwinkel. In addition, she visited the Attero waste management plant. In a press conference at the town hall she discussed her interest in green issues and praised the city for its enlightened leadership on environmental issues. 
  • Ambassador Hartog Levin plants tree on site of future U.S. Embassy
    April 23, 2010 - Ambassador Hartog Levin joined The Hague Mayor Jozias van Aartsen and Wassenaar Mayor Jan Hoekema in planting three trees on the future site of the U.S. Embassy in Wassenaar. The ceremony marked Earth Day, and the three trees were the first of 168 to be planted to replace those removed in preparing the property for the new construction.
  • Ambassador Hartog Levin On Water Management
    March 17, 2010 – The U.S. Embassy in The Hague and the Netherlands Water Partnership organized a reception to celebrate five years of U.S. - Dutch cooperation in Water Management. The event was held in Sociëteit de Witte in The Hague.
  • Ambassador Hartog Levin addresses Dutch Sustainability Congres
    November 11, 2009 - Ambassador Fay Hartog Levin addressed the 10th Nationaal Sustainability Congres on what the United States is doing to promote green energy and fight climate change. Over 700 NGO, government, and private sector professionals in the sustainability field attended the day-long event, held this year at the World Forum in The Hague.
  • U.S. - Dutch Renewable Energy Cooperation
    November 12, 2009  - A team from the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), led by Director Dr. Dan Arvizu, visited the Energy Research Center of the Netherlands (ECN) in Petten.
