Tulips Asleep in their Beds of Autumn

October 16, 2008 - The Keukenhof Park in Lisse, a world renowned botanical destination, celebrated the planting for its 60th season, which will run from March 19- May 21, 2009. According to Director Walter Jansen, the theme will be “USA, New Amsterdam, New York, 400.” Inspired by the 400th anniversary of the voyage of Henry Hudson to what is now Manhattan, the Park has designed pavilions and displays consisting of more than 7 million tulips.

Focusing on common US-Dutch history, as well as common values of liberty, tolerance and inclusion, a trip to the Keukenhof – known as the most photographed place in the world – would be an ideal family experience.
