Sergeant First Class Jean-Paul Raijmann, Royal Netherlands Air Force, was presented the Bronze Star with Valor by Mr. Michael Gallagher, Deputy Chief of Mission, at a ceremony at Volkel Air Base.

Sergeant Raijmann earned the medal for actions performed in 2003 while assigned to the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq.

It is the first U.S. Medal for Valor presented to a Dutchman since the Korean War in 1953.  In the background is Command Sergeant Major David Kiel, U.S. Army, who served with Sergeant Raijmann in Iraq.
