Obama Advisor at Opening of Leiden University Islam Study Center

Dalia Mogahed, President of the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies, a nonpartisan research center dedicated to providing data-driven analysis on the views of Muslim populations around the world and member of the interreligious advisory Council of President Obama, was one of the keynote speakers at a conference on “Islam, Science and Policy” at Leiden University. She spoke about “what a billion Muslims really think.”
The Conference marked the opening of the Leiden University Center for the Study of Islam and Society (LUCIS).
Other keynote speakers included John L. Esposito, Professor of Islamic Studies at Georgetown University in Washington DC, who spoke about the role of scientific study of the Islamic World in the U.S. Middle East policy; Amsterdam Mayor Job Cohen and former NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer.
