The 13th game of Haarlemse Honkbalweek 2010 had a unique feel to it this year. As team USA geared up to play the Netherlands, staff of the U.S. Consulate General spoke to eager baseball fans about travel to the United States.

Chargé d'Affaires Ned Nolan threw the opening pitch to American catcher Max Rossiter.  Tara Cummins, Public Outreach Coordinator and Christa Oudshoorn-Hobo, Assistant to the Consul General, sang the American and Dutch national anthems to a packed stadium.

Haarlemse Honkbalweek is an international baseball tournament that celebrated its 25th anniversary this year.  Teams from the United States, Chinese Taipei, Cuba, Japan, and the Netherlands competed in the tournament with Team Netherlands ultimately taking home first prize.
